My Background

Born in North Port, raised around cars and cameras

I'm Alejandro Portillo — born and raised right here in North Port, Florida. I grew up surrounded by cars: family cookouts in the driveway, weekend cruises, and that one neighbor's project car that always sat half-finished but somehow looked perfect every time I walked past it.

Cars stuck with me. Photography came later, almost by accident. I started taking pictures of friends' builds with whatever I had on hand, and once I saw how a good frame could make a car look — really look — I was hooked.

Today I'm studying photography at First Institute, sharpening the technical side while still chasing the same thing that got me into this in the first place: making cars look the way they feel.

My approach is intentional. I don't just want a nice picture — I want a frame that feels like a movie still. That means thinking about light first, location second, and angles that show your car the way you see it in your head.

I lean into moody tones, golden hour, and deep contrast. I love rolling shots where you can feel the speed, and detail work that catches the texture of paint, the curve of a fender, or the stitching on a steering wheel. Every car has something worth showing — my job is to find it.

A car isn't just a car — it's hours of work, savings, late nights in the garage, and a piece of who you are. When someone hands me the keys for a shoot, I take it seriously. I want the photos to mean something to you ten years from now, not just look good for a week on social media.

Whether it's a daily driver, a JDM build, a classic, or something exotic, the goal is always the same: make it look powerful, unique, and memorable.

What areas do you serve?

I'm based in North Port and regularly shoot in Port Charlotte, Venice, Sarasota, and surrounding Southwest Florida areas. Travel for shoots further out is possible — just reach out.

How long does a typical shoot take?

Most sessions run 1–2 hours, depending on the package and the type of shots you want. Rolling shots and multi-location shoots may take a bit longer.

How soon will I get my photos?

Edited and color-graded photos are delivered within 7 days of your shoot. Need something faster for an event or post? Let me know and we'll work it out.

Do you shoot car meets or events?

Yes — car meets, cruises, shows, and club events are all welcome. Reach out with the date and details and I'll put together a package that fits.

Can I use the photos for social media or print?

Absolutely. All clients get full rights to use their photos for personal social media, prints, and online posts. Commercial use (dealerships, brands, etc.) is discussed separately.

What if the weather is bad?
+

Florida weather is its own thing. If the forecast looks rough, we'll reschedule at no charge. Some of my favorite shots have actually come from overcast days — but safety and image quality come first.

The terms that apply when you use this site and book a shoot with Flicks With Ale.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using flickswithale.com or booking a session with Flicks With Ale, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or our services.

2. Our Services

Flicks With Ale provides automotive photography services, including portraits, rolling shots, posters, social content, and event coverage. Service descriptions, packages, and availability may change at any time.

3. Booking & Communication

Submitting the contact form is a request, not a confirmed booking. A session is only confirmed once we have agreed on the details (date, time, location, and scope) in writing — by email or message.

4. Fees, Deposits & Payment

Pricing is agreed before a shoot. A deposit may be required to reserve a date and, unless stated otherwise, deposits are non-refundable if you cancel. Remaining balances are due as agreed at the time of booking.

5. Cancellations & Rescheduling

If you need to cancel or reschedule, let us know as early as possible. We do our best to accommodate changes; shoots may also be rescheduled due to weather or circumstances beyond our control.

6. Image Rights & Licensing

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the photographer retains full copyright to all images. Upon final payment, you receive a license to use the delivered photos for personal, non-commercial use (such as personal social media and prints). Commercial or resale use requires a separate written agreement.

We may display delivered images in our portfolio, on social media, and in marketing materials unless you request otherwise in writing before the shoot.

7. Editing & Delivery

Edited images are delivered in our signature style within the timeframe agreed at booking (typically within 7 days). Editing style is at the photographer's creative discretion; raw/unedited files are not provided.

8. Your Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate booking information.
  • Ensure any vehicle photographed is yours or that you have permission to have it photographed.
  • Obtain any necessary permissions for private or restricted shoot locations.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Flicks With Ale is not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim relating to a shoot is limited to the amount you paid for that session.

10. Website Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including photographs, text, and design — is owned by Flicks With Ale and may not be copied or reused without permission.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the site or our services after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law
